Retiring Forrest County Ag Icon Honored

Mike Dale, a longtime Forrest County Agricultural High School instructor retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year, was recently honored for his service to the school and community.

A sign honoring Dale was installed on the north entrance of the FCAHS campus on March 20, the day marking his 36th year in education.

The sign was constructed by FCAHS alumnus Marc McPhail, who is one of Dale’s former students, and painted by current students. Additionally, Chuck and Trey Tucker of American Air assisted with the installation, and funding for the project was provided by the FCAHS school board and private donations from alumni.

More than 150 former students, community members, FCAHS staff, and supporters attended the sign dedication ceremony.

Dale was also recognized by the Mississippi House of Representatives earlier in the day with a proclamation honoring his service.
